This book provides a new procedure for decision making: SDM. This procedure 1) treats all important steps, 2) may be used for all kinds of tasks, and 3) takes into account human mental capabilities and limitations. As a result, the procedure allows for decisions that are more effective and possibly more efficient. As will become clear, the underlying decision-making processes for simple and complex decisions are essentially identical, so that you need to learn a single procedure only. SDM was compiled from a number of existing procedures and newly performed case-studies. It may be regarded a 'mother' procedure of other procedures.
