Signs of rabies
Every animals have certain neurological signs because of rabies. From species to species these signs of rabies may differ. Rabies is an infectious disease which attacks the nervous system and cause encephalitis - clinical signs of rabies are manifested in three distinct phases: Prodromal stage, furious stage and paralytic phase.
Clinical signs of rabies in animals vary, depending on the effects of the virus on the brain. Typical signs include sudden behavioral changes and progressive paralysis leading to death. In some cases, however, an animal can die quickly without significant clinical evidence. Not every animals with rabies have signs of rabies (aggressive behavior, obvious confusion, foaming at the mouth). When animals that are normally nocturnal, are active during the day, there is when you should be suspicious.
Signs of rabies in animals
Clinical signs of rabies in animals are: restlessness, irritability, the appetite is capricious and corrupt, swallowing objects - stones, pieces of wood - , they dash quickly to imaginary objects and they have the tendency to bite them, they have a lost look, without expression, and then it becomes a fixed one, watching, cold, ferocious. Signs of rabies in humans
The first signs of rabies to humans are: pain and a feeling of numbness of the part bitten, fever, throat irritation, dizziness, hallucination, tachycardia (heart beat frequency), vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, anxiety, agitation, nervousness. When the infection reach a high point, these are the signs that appear: difficulty swallowing, double vision, abnormal movements of the muscles that control breathing, problems moving facial muscles, mental depression (for a short period of time), loss of appetite, pupil dilatation, drooling, sound sensitivity, light sensitivity, episodic mania, episodic calm, convulsions, cardiac failure, respiratory failure.
